Your weekly update on Christian-related startups, founders, and VC

Good Morning!
Welcome to this week's edition of Faith Factor, your weekly overview of Christian-related startup and VC news. Lots of news this past week concerning Silicon Valley Bank, but many large funding rounds still moved forward.
Startup of the Week: Acivilate
Founded in 2014 by Louise Wasilewski and Darryl DeFreese, Acivilate is a startup focused on improving the criminal justice system in America. They do this through their software platform, which aims to connect vulnerable people and caseworkers and help those who were recently released from jail get their life back in order more quickly. Their platform also synchronizes public and private social services case management and helps drug courts, juvenile courts, and other problem-solving courts to better manage confidential data and conduct rehabilitation programs. This mission is a personal one to one of the founders, Louise, as she shared that her father had a very difficult time finding a good job after his time in jail. Although working with the criminal justice system can often be difficult for startups, Acivilate appears to be doing quite well, having raised a $1.45 million seed round in 2018 from several well-known seed funds and expanding in 2022 to 12 employees according to Pitchbook. Read more about them in their interview with Atlanta Startup Podcast.
