Startup of the Week: Charityvest

Founded in 2019 by Stephen Kump and Jon Koon, Charityvest is dedicated to streamlining the giving process and helping people make more effective charitable donations. The platform provides an all-in-one way to give, including having all giving on one tax receipt, enabling one account to be easily used for all giving, and providing low-fee donor advised funds. According to their website, Charityvest was started to make giving more easy and to help those on the fence fully commit to their charitable causes. Since its founding, the startup has achieved strong success. Charityvest was part of Y Combinator's Summer 2020 batch, and went on to raise a $3.7 million seed round, after which it raised another $2.2 million seed round at over double the previous valuation. The company has about 13 employees according to LinkedIn, and has been featured by major media sites such as Forbes, TechCrunch, and Barron's.
