Startup of the Week: ianacare

Founded by Jessica Kim in 2017, ianacare aims to equip and encouragement family caregivers. According to their website, “over 90% of care happens in the home, not in the hospital”. This places a tremendous responsibility on family caregivers, who often have to help the care recipient essentially all by themselves. ianacare aims to reduce that burden by providing an all-in-one platform for these caregivers, so they can manage private groups of caregivers and supporters, request and receive support from others, and access resources personalized to their respective situation. These resources include tips on managing one’s own health when taking care of others, content on financial and legal documents, and advice for understanding available resources and employer benefits. Through their platform, ianacare has been able to help thousands of caregivers and partner with employers across the country- and if you are wondering where their name came from, “iana” stands for I Am Not Alone.
