Startup of the Week: Safire

Co-founded in 2020 by Mike Grubbs and John Lee, Safire is a battery technology startup developing safer batteries for EV and defense use. Their technology imparts ballistic protection at the cell level, and prevents batteries from catching fire or exploding during EV crashes. Through this, their clients can develop electric vehicles and aircraft that are safer, while still being cost-effective. So far, Safire has raised $3 million in venture funding, and is currently going through prototyping. Read more about the company and what they are doing here.
